Registration is required. Speaker Biographies: Lily Liu is a family caregiver for her mother who has a chronic illness. In 2015, Lily took a hiatus from the workplace to set up the infrastructure of care for her mother. Prior to that, Lily worked at AARP, most recently serving as AARP’s historian and archivist. The majority of Lily’s career at AARP was spent in AARP’s Communications Group, including positions as a Speechwriter for the Executive Director/CEO and the all-volunteer Board of Directors. She co-founded AARP’s Asian-American employee resource group and led it for 15 years. As a result of her lived experience as a family caregiver, Lily hopes to empower other caregivers to seek out resources and information. She delivers her inspirational speech, “My Journey from The Draggin’ Daughter to The Dragon Daughter,” around the country, sometimes presenting in Mandarin Chinese. Lily was interviewed in 2016 for the AARP documentary about three Chinese American family caregivers, “Caregiving: The Circle of Love.” Her articles and blogs about her experiences as an immigrant family caregiver have been published in the United States and in the United Kingdom.
