Intuitive Trauma-Informed Art Therapy is a strategy that engages individuals in creative artmaking to develop skills to manage post-traumatic events. We believe art therapy is a discipline that offers solutions to social justice inequities, abuse, and grief.
This workshop will kick-off a 7-week art therapy experience designed to begin the process of healing and the opportunity to connect with others with similar goals. Attendees will have the opportunity to register for this powerful series.
This workshop is intended for people who are interested in learning more about art therapy, individuals who have experienced trauma, social injustices and seeking new avenues for healing. Also invited to participate are counselors, case managers, peer counselors, cultural brokers, mental health professionals.
Intuitive Trauma-Informed Art Therapy involves multiple art activities and interventions to reduce and eliminate trauma by focusing on critical issues such as:
Safety
Trustworthiness & transparency
Peer support
Collaboration
Empowerment (voice and choice)
