This class is taught in partnership with Stanford Health Care Fall Prevention Program.

Learn how to identify fall risks and simple and effective home modifications to prevent falls. Learn six steps to prevent falls and what to do right after a fall happens. Get connected with community resources to maintain safety and wellness.

Participants will learn:

  • How to Prevent Falls
  • Exercises to Build Strength and Balance
  • What to do After a Fall

Home Modifications

  • Lighting, Stairs, Showers, Carpets & Floors

Resources

  • Medic Alert Systems
  • L.I.F.E. File (Lifesaving Information for Emergencies)
  • Medication Disposal
  • Centers for Disease Control STEADI Information

Community Programs & Services

  • Learn about Important Local Community Resources and Organizations

This course is open to individuals who live or work within the communities served by Santa Clara County Fire Department: Campbell, Cupertino, Los Gatos, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Monte Sereno, Saratoga and the unincorporated surrounding areas.
