Event Details

Hi everyone, my name is Kayla! I’m a student here at SJSU and I’m looking for participants with a history or recent experiences of what they would consider social anxiety. Examples of social anxiety can stem from past negative experiences to recent events such as Covid-19. All types of insight on how to cope are welcomed, so that others with similar experiences can mimic the communication behaviors you used in yours and overcome social anxiety as well. Specifically I am looking for participants willing to practice mimicry and imitation through role playing. This workshop of course is completely voluntary, so anything you do not feel like participating in you absolutely have the option to opt out of. The purpose of this workshop is to show how practicing before going into social environments, using observational learning, can greatly impact our interpersonal communication and confidence while undergoing stress. This workshop should take 60-75 minutes. As your facilitator I know what social anxiety can feel like and hope to offer a supportive environment. Depending on the number of people I can absolutely provide pizza and beverages upon request.
