In 2021 the Minority Mental Health event began as a way to bring mental health awareness to an underserved community during the pandemic. Many of these communities experienced everyday stressors like no other. Much of the demographic was already unfamiliar with mental health care and what to do for themselves and their families when in a crisis.

The community event quickly became a county event when mental health organizations throughout Santa Clara County came together to provide awareness through services and resources available beyond this one-day event.

The Minority Mental Health event is now the Minority Mental Wellness Resource Fair. Hellyer Neighborhood Association is partnering with NAMI Santa Clara County, NAACP, and more key organizations working together to turn this Resource Fair into a County-wide event held annually at Hellyer County Park.

This year’s event will feature a variety of vendors who will provide much needed resources to families in need and bring an awareness to guests that mental wellness may already be built into many of our everyday lives without us realizing it. Mental health is not always about having a mental illness. It can be about taking care of you, your family, and anyone else close to you, but it starts with you.

In addition to the resources provided, this family-friendly event will offer:

. a Wellness Center with a variety of approaches to caring for yourself and family.

. nonstop wellness entertainment, including a children’s wellness skit!

. interactive booths and live demonstrations, to explore your creativity.

. lunch booths, most discounted, a dessert booth, Nirvana coffee booth with free samples

. children’s play area with bounce house, lawn games and much more.
