The Teen Brain Matters workshop combines the latest understanding of neuroscience and developmental psychology, with practical strategies to help parents and carers to understand the changes teenagers are going through, and what they can do to help support them. Delivered by Jenny Langley, the workshop has been developed alongside Dr John Coleman OBE, a psychologist with an international reputation for his work on the teenage years, and we have adapted to look specifically at the impact of eating disorders on the brain.
This session aims to support participants to understand normal teenage brain development and to consider four very common questions that arise when supporting young people with eating disorders.
How do I know if it is normal teenage behaviour or an Eating Disorder behaviour?
Why does my child still struggle with logical thinking about food weight and shape, even when her weight is restored?
How might an Eating Disorder affect my child’s development?
What can I do to help my teenager catch up as they recover?
This webinar is for:
Parents and carers of loved ones with an eating disorder
School/ College/ University staff who are likely to be supporting several young people with eating disorders at some point throughout the academic year
Anyone working in the field of eating disorders
