Event Details

Introductory training for family members of someone diagnosed with dementia. Interactive workshop with discussions on guiding family caregivers in confidently trusting personal strengths so they can clarify paths to end goals, select and stay on paths, and ensure quality caregiving.

This will be an interactive workshop.

First, workshop participants will introduce themselves by sharing a short story about themselves. Stories can fill in the forgotten moments of our lives. These moments in our lives can expand the meaning of our lives by being critical and essential to the story we tell ourselves about our lives.

Then, workshop participants will share their first impressions of their results from the “Values In Action” (VIA) Survey of Character Strengths. Please take this free, scientific survey on character strengths before the class: https://www.viacharacter.org/survey/account/register?registerPageType=popup.

Caregiving is a journey. It is normal to feel a range of emotions: satisfaction, pride, frustration, love, appreciation, etc. It’s helpful to know and use our best personal qualities.
